Key Benefits

What this system helps you achieve

Taste and odour improvement

Bonded powdered activated carbon reduces chlorine taste, odour and general bad tastes.

Fine-sediment reduction

Nominal 5-micron construction also captures fine particulate contamination.

High dirt-holding capacity

High-porosity carbon helps use more of the adsorption capacity before the cartridge plugs.

Endurawrap protection

The outer pre-filter traps sediment before it reaches and blocks the carbon core.

Application Fit

Is it suitable for your site?

Best for

  • Drinking-water and beverage polishing
  • Foodservice and light-commercial filtration
  • RO pre- or post-treatment where compatible
  • Standard and Big Blue cartridge housings

Check before ordering

  • Select EP-10, EP-20, EP-BB or EP-20BB for the installed housing
  • Match service flow and chlorine capacity to site demand
  • Confirm incoming sediment and chlorine loading
  • Use within the installed housing pressure rating and 4.4–82.2°C temperature range

Trust Signals

Backed by brand credibility, certification and local support

Brand

Pentek by Pentair carbon media

EP Series cartridges are part of Pentair’s established carbon-block filtration range.

Certification

NSF/ANSI 42 material requirements

Certification applies to material requirements for the named EP models.

Selection

Model and capacity review

Housing size, service flow and chlorine load should be checked before selection.

Lifecycle

Flow and chlorine-load planning

Replacement should reflect actual water quality, usage, pressure drop and taste breakthrough.

Why This Model

When EP Series makes sense

A combined carbon and fine-sediment cartridge where water needs chlorine taste and odour improvement without moving to a complete proprietary filtration system.

1
Carbon adsorption and sediment capture Combines bonded activated carbon with nominal 5-micron particulate reduction.
2
Protected carbon core Endurawrap captures sediment first, helping maximise useful carbon capacity.
3
Four common housing formats Select standard or Big Blue models in 10-inch and 20-inch lengths according to flow and capacity.
Process

From water check to
ongoing support

01

Share the requirement

Housing size, flow, chlorine level, sediment and intended use.

02

Select the EP model

Match diameter, length, service flow and capacity to the system.

03

Install and flush

Install in a compatible housing and flush carbon fines before use.

04

Monitor and replace

Track taste, odour, pressure drop, flow and service interval.

Customer Confidence

Built for commercial operations teams

Water-quality improvement
Carbon treatment supports better taste and odour at the point of use.
Protected media
The pre-filter helps delay premature carbon-block plugging.
Multiple capacity options
Standard and Big Blue formats support different flow and service-life requirements.
No. EP Series carbon cartridges reduce chlorine taste, odour and fine sediment. They are not RO membranes or water softeners.
Choose according to the housing diameter and length, required flow and chlorine capacity: EP-10, EP-20, EP-BB or EP-20BB.
Carbon cartridges may release harmless carbon fines during initial start-up. Flush according to the installation guidance before using the water.
Replace based on chlorine or taste breakthrough, reduced flow, pressure drop, rated capacity and the site maintenance schedule.
For the listed EP models, certification is for material requirements only. It should not be represented as certification for every performance claim.
